Five stark pieces of drone improvisation are the bones that form Sun-Day 14. Isolationist tangents that play out across guitar strings and organ keys, anchored by nothing, left to drift forever. These five pieces offer a more organic counterpoint to the monochromatic drones present on Sun-Day 7, with eroded corners and reverb-smeared melodic passages that melt down in slow blurs. Only in the fourth movement, Shroud, does a warm chordal loop emerge to help you find your way back. It should come as no surprise that the way back is longer than the way you came.
